I rarely respond to fragrances this strongly - but I love tuberose - and I adore gardenia - so it was a bit of a a no-brainer really. And I hate to be predictable but it is in a carnation and vanilla bourbon base - also things I am more than happy to cover myself in. It does list neroli and orangeflower extract in the notes - none of which I am happy to report - my nose picks up. I can't bear smelling like fruit - I prefer to eat it.
Following in the tradition of Estee's first Private Collection released in 1973 - Tuberose Gardenia was created by Aerin Lauder for her friends.
If you like strong florals, gardenia or tuberose you have to try this fragrance. It is divine. It's a heavy enough floral to warrant wearing it throughout the year - not just for summer.
Failing that you could just find an Estee Lauder PR to follow around all day like a sniffer dog.

I prefer this when it has worn down after a while than to the original spritz. I like how fresh it is but I'm not a fan of Tuberose personally! The British Museum looked amazing all pink!
ReplyDeleteOh quite fancy trying this. How does it compare to Jo Malone Tuberose (which I was gutted they stopped producing but I do still have some left) or Michael Kors (which is the fragrance always go back to).

It compares to Jo Malone by being STRONGER and slightly more gourmand (Jo Malone's fragrance was too fleeting and on me did not outlast the first hour of spritzing) However, Estee Lauder's Tuberose is infinitely less divine than Serge Lutens Tubéreuse Criminelle. If you are a Tuberose-Gardenia fan it is well worth trying it out it comes with the most amazing and invigorating opening that reminds me personally of root beer but has just such enticing sweetness and depth to it. An outstanding composition and exactly 10 mins after buying this and walking out of the store covered in it, I got a lovely compliment and a request after what unbelievably beautiful fragrance I was wearing....
